Previously The Last Post and The Winning Post, this former bookie's shop claims to be the best pub in town, but that is a highly debatable point. Looking like an Indian restaurant from the outside, it's actually a single room horseshoe-shaped bar with a central servery. The clientele look like they've been there a while and are still waiting for that elusive winner to come in, while the staff are not favourites to be placed in the human race. The bar-being was certainly not from this planet, and he/she/it couldn't grasp the concept of real ale. Not that it mattered, as there was in any case none on the premises. Not worth a repeat visit.
