This pub is currently up for sale looking at the board outside, plus the only customer in there asked if I wanted to buy it, and he was drinking lager. Two handpumps with one in use serving Old Mill Bitter. This was fine, only problem was I had to neck it down as the landlady was shutting up early at 7pm on a Monday evening. Later on we saw her supping in the Derby Tup. It's a two roomed nice old pub with some stain glass features and was small and comfortable. It's a pity really, just has a lot of competition from a few good pubs only a short distance away.

The Red Lion is owned by Old Mill Brewery and features seven hand pumps. Unfortunately only two were in use, with Westons Old Rosie cider and Old Mill Traditional Bitter. The landlord says that the mild, mentioned on the WhatPub review, just doesn't sell, and he's also had to send several real ales back to the brewery because of quality issues. He gave me a leaflet of forthcoming seasonal brews, one or two of which may supplement the regular bitter, but I have to say that the three or four regulars who were there at the time of my visit were all drinking lager. To be fair, the half of Traditional Bitter that I had was in truly excellent condition. It's not a beer to make you go "wow", but as a session bitter it would be just the thing.
