Visited 04/06/26. Visited previously for ticking purposes on 06/03/18, but one of my most frequently visited pubs in Douglas over the years, both before and since that date.
Cask here was Okells Best, 1907, the Woody Ruby Ale, MPA and the Smoked Porter. TT LL was the non-Okells cask. Keg was Carling, Orchard Isle cider, Guinness, Madri, Heineken, Nectar NEIPA and Falcon lager.
Notable cask venue in the side streets north of the promenade. The various rooms are off the tiled corridor that leads from the entrance, with a drinking ledge to stand with your pint in the rear part of the corridor. The first bar area on the right-hand side has a bar counter in the rear right-hand corner and is bare boarded with some banquettes around the perimeter and quite a few regular tables and chairs. The second bar area a bit further back on the right-hand side is carpeted with leather padded banquette around the perimeter serving regular tables with small stools the other side thereof. The bar counter is opposite the entrance and there are a couple of tall stools at the bar counter. Room is wood panelled and there are quite a few framed group caricatures on the walls. The third bar off the corridor on the right-hand side is much more to the rear down a flight of steps and is another carpeted area with its own bar counter along the rear wall to the right of its entrance. A leather padded banquette along the wall opposite the entrance serving regular tables and regular tables and chairs along the opposite wall. There is a large screen on the wall opposite the bar counter and the space leads to a small rear beer garden with picnic benches. On the left-hand side off the corridor from the entrance is a bare boarded room with a pool table and dart board in the rear corner. Seating is a banquette under the windows on the front wall serving a bunch of regular tables and then a few chairs dotted around the rest of the perimeter. A single screen was showing the cricket and there was a marble fire grate on the wall opposite the entrance and further wall space taken up by a fruit machine and jukebox. Very much in the upper echelons of Douglas and indeed Isle of Man watering holes.

Traditional locals' pub a little away from Douglas town centre, but firmly part of the local community.
Last time I was here, I sat in a front room with access to the bar. A central corridor serves two separate rooms off to the left-hand side and beyond that the former gents-only bar, also with access to the bar and a games room at the rear down some steps.
Sitting in the gents-only bar this time around, handpulls offered the regular beers Okell's Bitter & MPA, along with their St Nick & Douglas City Ale & Greene King Abbot. A couple of Timothy Taylor beers (one was certainly Boltmaker and I think the other was the Dark Mild) were about to come on. Whether there were any further beers on in the front room, I'm not sure. However, I was quite happy with my St Nick.
Well worth a vist and I'll upgrade my score from 6 to 7.

This is a friendly pub on the bus route just outside the centre. Friendly landlady selling a good range of 8 Okells beers through 2 rooms. We enjoyed the Eastern Spice, Alt, and Spring Ram.
