Not selling real ale these days but pub still manages to attract a decent number of customers in a run down part of town. Sports TV and music at the weekends seems to drag them in but a long way down my list of favourite places.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Bridges
Fairly basic sports bar within a slightly more interesting façade, but it is dull semi-modern furniture and decor inside the overall 'L'- shaped bar. Plenty of TV screens showing different channels, but that's about it apart from the non-background music. Two handpumps on the counter, but both clips were reversed (with Hobgoblin and something from Moorhouse's on previously, or coming soon, by the shape of things). Opted for the keg Younger's Bitter (at just £1.65 for a pint) in preference to the John Smith's Gold (a new one on me).

Bridges was very busy with a twenty-something crowd on Saturday for the weekly karaoke/disco night. It was two deep at the bar and it took a fair time to get served as the barman was serving his favourites before people who were waiting longest. When I eventually got to the bar he actually served someone who was standing behind me. Standard draught is available and one hand pump was unused leaving Wolfies Best as the lone ale option.
Sky Sports is advertised and plasma screens are found throughout the L shaped interior. At the rear of the pub is a raised area that houses a pool table and a dartboard.
I saw nothing in here that sets this pub apart from its competition and I do not plan to return anytime soon.
