Impressive timbered pub on the edge of town. Very upmarket with prices to match. It was a glorious afternoon so I sat out the front which was very pleasant.
Doom Bar and Purity Mad Goose on. I went for the Mad goose which was excellent - and should be at £6 a pint!
Glad to have called in.

Gastropub in an impressive building dating from 1651.

Purity UBU in great condition.

Food - expensive and small portions. Steak Sandwich £12.95 and not great value.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Barnt Green Inn

Very substantial, country-house type pub / restaurant on the edge of the village, with a fine Tudor-style half-timbered façade and a wood-panelled interior. Extended bar / lounge along the frontage, with further seating and dining areas further back. All very upmarket in terms of furniture and decor inside, but being set back some way from the road there is also plenty of space for an extensive beer garden. Two of three handpumps in operation, dispensing Pure UBU and Sharp's Atlantic (£3.90), with a reversed Doom Bar clip also noted.
