After the torturous hike up the hill from town I was more than ready for a pint. I arrived a few minutes before opening on a Sunday so I was glad to sit outside until it opened. 3 ales on - HPA, Pedigree and Hop Shed Redcap. I went for the latter which was a new beer for me. It was in good shape. Popular with diners and well worth a visit.

On the outskirts of Bewdley but a pleasant walk through some suburbs to get here. The pub sits in a prominent position above the road, with some steps and a hand rail looking recently installed. The inside is smart and modern, with most of the tables and chairs seemingly expecting people to sit down and eat food at them. However, I wasn't the only one just calling in for a beer, as an older man who was clearly a regular soon turned up and took a seat near me. The staff were welcoming, and the pub soon began to fill up with lunch time trade, though it was noticeable that quite a few had brought dogs with them, and the pub's own dog found this particularly exciting.
On the bar are four hand pumps, one with a cider and then two Marstons beers and one from the local brewery. I went for the Bewdley Worcestershire Way, a 3.6% pale bitter, which was very good.
