A clue to how this one survives is given in the fact that it is now known as the Six Bells Hotel, as the upstairs floors have been converted into 12 bedrooms. The single room downstairs pub section has no real redeaming features but is popular with the locals for watching sport. There was always a single handpump that invariably had an average GK IPA but that was finally removed for good in November 2023.
It serves a purpose, just not for me.

This isn’t the friendliest pub that I have ever been into and I found the woman behind the bar to be slightly threatening when I had to pull her away from a conversation to pour my Guinness. Abbot Ale was the only cask beer, but there was a selection of standard draught. I counted five plasma screens dotted around the pub which is a lot as this isn’t a huge place. Some modern chart music was playing which was at a good volume and I also spotted a dartboard, but I won’t be returning in a hurry to play on it.
