This split-level Slug & Lettuce is another hen do palace with flowery décor and a centrepiece raised table with banquettes for use by the bride with a maid of honour who books ahead. Premium keg alongside Neck Oil and Carling are available from the counter that runs up the right. The service was poor and I’ll be walking past next time.

The old Yates's has had a major facelift and is now the Slug And Lettuce. It is a bit fancy inside for my taste but it is well done. There is a separate cocktail bar inside which probably does well on an evening. No ales so I settled for Meantime Pale Ale which was fine. OK for a quick one I suppose!
