Lonely pub in delightful setting. Monday lunch, so surprised to see it so busy. Only seats outside.
Labelled as a banks - which was a bit disappointing, having come all the way from their home ground.
Two ales on and I had a first Mansfield Bitter - which was better than expected.

One of the seemingly endless amount of boozers that adorn the A619, this one stands out as having been a Good Beer Guide entry for 2011 so I made the effort pop in and take a look. Four ales initially on offer - Black Sheep, GK IPA and two local Brampton ales. The first Brampton spluttered and died on pouring but the other, Swedish Blonde was came out fine. The U-shaped pub is split over two rooms, I took up residence in the right and neglected to check out the left. The right room is very much an unfussy locals local bar with proceedings at one end dominated by the Soccer Saturday team on a large drop-down screen and a gaggle of middle-aged ladies in their Saturday glad rags taking up the attractive bay window seating at the other. Décor is relatively minimal, with neutral painted walls and a tiled floor. There’s also a basic rear courtyard for the smoker in your life. Also noted that cobs were available from behind the bar. Service was friendly enough, no complaints. Live music was also advertised.
Whilst this is by no means a destination pub, it’s a tidy, well-run local that I’d use if I lived nearby.
