Bucking Fastard left this review about The Old Crown
A small village pub which has had a modern internal makeover.Once through the front door ,the bar is immediately ahead with the main seating area and the loos to the right. At the other end of the bar, down one step is another small seating area. The tables are to accomodate diners, which is the main focus ,while drinkers congregate around the bar. There are several benches outside for exterior drinking in fine weather.
There are four handpumps, one reversed with the others dispensing GK IPA,St Austell Tribute and Milestone Shine On in OK condition. The food is very standard pub grub with mains around £10 and featuring foodservice staples.
The makeover has left a light interior but devoid of any period features. The musak was surprisingly loud hip hop style, and while I applaud cleanliness in pubs, there was a strong odour of chlorine based cleaning fluid wafting around our table. Not a great place if you were looking for an authentic village local, but the welcome from behind the bar was friendly.
