Alan Winfield left this review about The Crown
The Crown Inn is a nice looking pub with a very long frontage.
Once inside the bar was facing and this area had a polished stone floor and had normal tables and chairs,to the right there was a larger room that was open to the main bar area this room was quite smart and L shaped with the rear area slightly raised this room was carpeted, there were two other rooms to the left of the main bar area the first room was open to the main bar and this room was very comfortable and this where we sat,the room to the far left was through a short narrow passage and this was in darkness.
The whole of the pub had low ceilings and beams giving the pub a warm cosy feel to it.
There were four real ales on the bar i had a drink of Castle Rock Harvest Pale and this was a really nice well kept drink the other beers were Wye Valley Butty Bach, Sharpes Doom Bar and Hobgoblin.
I thought this was a really nice pub that catered for drinkers and diners alike.
We had a meal here the menu was fairly small and because it was Friday there were a few fish meals on it,we had the Fish and Chips which was around £10 each but because it was Friday there was a free bottle of wine which my wife enjoyed.
The fish and chips was probably the best i have ever had the chips were very nice as was the fish and the peas were very tasty.
If you like decent food and drink in nice surroundings this pub is well worth visiting.
