No real ale and the Guinness was not on form. Will not be returning.

Didn't realise that the bar of the Charing Cross Theatre was open to the general public until they started putting up posters a couple of years ago. Located deep under the railway arches, you enter a small bar with simple furniture and decor. However, there is a larger and more comfortable room beyond (with grand piano and spiral staircase) which feels more like a hotel bar/lounge than anything else. No real ale, with just Guinness, Stella, Budweiser and Becks Vier available on draught plus bottled London Pride (£3.95).

This place is OK if you've had a couple too many and 23:00 has been and gone. The staff were pleasant enough and the clientele were not the sort that you'd find in the Dog and Duck supping on an ale, but I had no problems with them even though there were a few that looked like they were about to disappear up their own backsides. There was a guy playing on a piano and although he wasn't great it did add to the atmosphere.
I had a decent pint of Guinness from the standard draught selection and although it was a little pricey it was no more than other late night venues.
I would never plan to return, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I found myself here again.
