Steve of N21 left this review about The Taps
Formerly a bar called Browns, and then The Taps it is now branded as Mary Maddens. Can’t say if it is any different from the previous incarnations as this was my first time to visit this location.
A conversion from a former shop its long and thin with a wooden floored bar room as you enter, with the bar on the left hand side, and then a slightly more expansive carpeted lounge section beyond this. Lots of dark wood and it’s the usual plastic paddy bar decor with a couple of screens dotted about for the sport. No real ale as you would expect, just the usual Guinness and fizz accompaniments.
I paid my visit for pubs galore research purposes and this one will not divert me from the Kings Head when I’m next up this end of Enfield Town.

Strongers . left this review about The Taps
There were too many menacing wide eyed locals in here that were arguing amongst themselves and talking themselves up during my visit. It's a shame as the barmaid was very friendly and I spotted three plasma screens which were showing muted Sky Sports as some decent old tunes were playing on the speakers. Like most Irish bars this place has no real ale, but my Guinness was up to standard and it didn't break the bank.
I'll be avoiding this place in future or at least until the management realise that most people don't enjoy a threatening atmosphere whilst enjoying a pint.
