I wasn't sure if this village pub would be open on a midweek afternoon. However, it seems to open all day every day during the summer months, as it enjoys a picturesque location next to the River Avon and near a bridge over it. Hence the name.
The pub is owned by some South Africans and there is a large flag of South Africa next to the bar. There are various sections to the interior. The main bar area has a small section just behind a fireplace with a wood burner. The bar also has a TV.
Rooms lead off here either side and all are mainly for dining. Steaks appear to be a speciality. With the kitchen closed until 5:30pm, I pretty much had the pub to myself apart from a few people arriving to take drinks into the garden over the road. It is mainly laminate flooring but there are rugs in some of the rooms. Flowers can be found on each table.
Being predominantly food-led, there are menus on clipboards available to take away from the bar. There was also a specials board above the fireplace in the main bar. The riverside garden with a marquee and copious amounts of seating had clearly been busy at lunchtime earlier. I can see why they choose to stay open all day in the summer, but close during the day in winter. I'd imagine that it can get manic on busy summer weekends. Staff had walkie talkies to communicate with others, as the riverside seating area has its own bars too. There is even an overflow car park signposted for when the hordes arrive.
At the bar, it's a mainly Cornish theme. Regular cask ales are St Austell Proper Job & Sharp's Doom Bar. Guests on this visit were Sharp's Sea Fury & Flack's 15. Ciders were Inch's & Thatcher's Gold. I chose the Flack's beer, which was on reasonable nick.
A wifi code was provided, but it didn't work. In fairness, they did have an engineer present who appeared to be fitting a new router. Music was playing, but more for the benefit of the owners than customers. Children and dogs are both welcome and there was also a small outdoor drinking patio on the pub side of the road.
I quite liked this pub. The beer garden over the road is clearly the main draw. It appears to be a thriving venture and if I was to return, I'd like to try the food.

Fairly plain inside and out, the interior is a bit modern for my tastes and the choice of the Wimbledon final, up against thumping dance music from behind the bar, as I sat on a high seat, didn’t help me warm to it. Four ales on in Doom Bar, Flacks, Black Sheep and St Austell Proper Job, the latter of which didn't fully clear (NBSS 2.5). The main draw is the nice garden over the way overlooking the River Avon. GBG’24 listed – though I wasn’t over-convinced beyond pump count.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bridge Inn
Very plain looking exterior; all white paint with just some bold black lettering for the signage. From the dull external appearance - not helped by the construction work going on in the adjacent building - one might expect a fairly old-fashioned 'spit and sawdust' country tavern, so the bright modern interior comes as a major surprise. The layout comprises a smallish bar with separate dining rooms on either side and a small back room with a little more seating; all thoroughly refurbished with light timber and paintwork. The menu is far from cheap, but the quality of our lunch-time 'lite bites' was excellent. 6X, Ringwood Best Bitter and Summer Lightning available from the three handpumps. Overall, however, the inn's best feature is the large beer garden beside the river on the other side of the road which must be a fine spot in the summer, overlooking the attractive bridge (two different views of which are shown on each side of the pub sign).
