In the last two years this bar has gone downhill - it is now distinctly shabby around the edges, and the staff have become much more aggressive - if you sit down for more than five minutes while your companion goes to the bar to buy drinks, they will get quite pushy. The first two who did this on my last visit (this weekend just gone) weren't even able to speak English properly. I have used this bar regularly for about 3 years now and have seen it go from the calm resting place that JAQPTIO describes below to a below par airport sidewater. Still no ale despite the presence of a London Pride pump clip on what appears to be a redundant hand pump, and not worth bothering with, particularly as it's Landside and therefore offers no real advantage to the traveller in either direction.

Relatively comfortable and civilised airport bar, but unfortunately no sign of real ale (despite the two handpumps). Had to settle for a bland pint of keg Bass instead.
