The Beeswing is a long, narrow pub in the centre of the village of East Cowton. It is named after a racehorse, whose pictures you can see inside. I believe it (the horse) was from the 19th century.
The pub has a nicely appointed interior with a few different sections that afford a little seclusion, if you so desire. But the overall impression was that the pub relies on its food trade to keep going. Wainwright & Mad Goose were the 2 real ales available. Surprised to see this one in the Good Beer Guide.
