The Ring o' Bells is situated on a lively street near Bath Spa station. It is under the same ownership as the Curfew where I had been earlier. The ground floor bar has a stone floor with a couple of TVs. There are a few framed shirts (I asssume rugby) under a skylight which helps gives the rear of the room a little light. Old pictures of Bath can be seen on the walls.
5 cask ales were on - Otter Bitter & Amber, St Austell Outta Time, Bass & Timothy Taylor Landlord. Electric Bear Tondo was on keg. Ciders were Thatcher's Gold & Stan's Cheddar Valley. Food is served. Although nobody was eating during my mid-afternoon visit. There is a specials board to the side of the bar listing a chicken burger for £16 and a lamb rump steak for £21. Sunday roasts are also served from 12-4.
Playing cards were on a shelf underneath the skylight, along with loads of flyers for the area. A wifi code can be found opposite the bar and both children and dogs are allowed in. With the toilets being upstairs, it gave me chance to take a peak in another room on the first floor which seemed to be either for dining or functions. With the pub being on a bank, the pub garden could be accessed by some steps to the rear of the first floor room.
As always in Bath, rugby appears to be very popular in this pub. Tickets to watch the local game with Bristol in the pub were being sold for £20. Luckily it was a bit quieter for my visit and I have to say that my St Austell Outta Time was quite nice. My opinion of that brewery has gone up significantly with some of their more recent beers.

A recent addition to the Good Beer Guide, but even more recently - there was work going on as I passed the pub this morning, and a notice apologising because the kitchen was not in action - it seems to have changed hands with a concomitant makeover and change of emphasis. There are still five hand pumps, but only Bass and Otter available. My two Bass drinking friends were not impressed, but we had just come from the Star Inn where it's as good as it gets. My half of Otter Ale was about NBSS 3, so pretty good really. Our visit coincided with an evening rush, and the staff were no doubt under a bit of pressure. Enough of allowances: not on my list for a revisit, but it's only five minutes from the station, so never say never.

Long, low ceilinged and fairly modernised interior with some traditional touches via the flagstone floor, chunky wood tables and pew seating. Some modern repro breweriana on display. Four cask on the go; TTL, Otter, one I forgot to note, and of course I went straight for the Bass and was rewarded with an excellent pint (NBSS 4). Surprisingly busy for a Tuesday evening with a bustling atmosphere. Close to the station and a good discovery, I’ll be back for the Bass and train station convenience. GBG'23 listed and rightfully so. 7.5
