Reopened under new management in Sept last year after an extensive refurb, by the owner of the micropub next door but one, Brimming with Beer.
This pub had undergone a full new cellar set and new lines. The bar area on the right of entrance, plus the lounge area are smart and comfortable and even has USB on the new plug sockets. I also noticed a good sized beer garden at the rear, which was family friendly. Back in the bar area, the young barman was very welcoming and patient when choosing a beer from their five handpumps. The line up was Farmers Blonde, Pentrich Shall I Be Mother & North of South, Thwaites IPA & Gold. We went for the North of South which was in excellent condition and reasonably priced. The pub also sells Pork pies sourced locally and served with slices of cheese, chutney and silverskin onions.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ark Tavern
Basic Thwaites pub, with a pool table but limited seating in the bar area. Larger lounge to one side with more seating. Snooker on a large TV, competing with loudish music. No real ale, not even any Thwaites Smooth, so made do with a quick pint of Stones (£2.40) before moving on...
