Very smart family dining type place - more aimed at food market than the beer. Ludlow Gold in excellent condition.

A traditional style pub with a relaxed atmosphere on a Saturday night, where a good chat and a drink would be the main focus. A table of six were having a game of dominoes on our visit and I found no music being played encouraged customers to chat to one another, when visiting the bar.
I ended up chatting to a chap with a dyed blue beard, when ordering our drinks at the bar. Four pubs with three on, serving Ludlow Gold, St Austell Proper Job and Theakston. We went for the Ludlow Gold, which was excellent.

This is an old pub that seems to be the only one in town that opens before midday. There's a central bar with areas either side. There are beams, hops draped around, an old fireplace and horse brasses. It seems to be food orientated but their seemed to be a fair few older types in before the food started.
the bar has four hand pumps which had one unused, Abbot, Theakston's Best and Ludlow Gold. This isn't the best beer choice but my Ludlow Gold (£3.10) was good and reasonably priced for what seems to be an upmarket pub.
I thought this was well worth a look.
