This pub reopened November 2023, having been previously been operating under the name Sanctuary Garden before closing suddenly almost a year ago. (With Christmas bookings taken but not honoured, apparently.) Now owned by Batemans brewery, but it felt very much a dining pub when I checked it out, with some bare stone or brick walls and wood panelling on the lower walls made of unfinished timber painted olive drab. All the seating in the left hand (uphill) side of the building was at tables set for diners, with the small right hand "snug" having low seating in armchairs and sofas, plus a high table in the corner. The bar counter is fairly small and has two hand pumps offering Bateman's XB and Gold. My pint of XB was underwhelming and service a little flustered, but to be fair they'd only been open a few days and maybe it will improve once they've settled in.
