Now a Brewers Fayre pub , the real ales have gone , apart from that its stiil the same .

Tabletable pub/restuarant , as the previous review states its pretty large inside with lots of little alcoves ans snugs , many of the areas are divided by shelves adourned with various nick-nacks , vases , ornaments and the obligatry piles of logs , its acctually quite cosy for this style of pub
Trade is mainly food led with lots of cheap deals and offers(popular with families) , but it also caters for people just wanting a drink which is handy now all the pubs in nearby Donnington have shut .
Beers available were the usual keg taps plus three cask ales , Pedigree , Banks Bitter and Wychwood Bah Humbug which was OK , there is also a decent selection of mainstream wines .
Service was quick and friendly , customers were mainly people from the nearby Premier Inn and families and older couples eating .
Its OK in here , the food was basic but good value and the beer not to bad , OK if your in the area

Typical Beefeater type pub which is much bigger than it looks at first. There are loads of alcoves to the right of the bar, in fact it's a proper rabbit warren. This works pretty well if you're eating as you get a bit of privacy rather than eating in a huge barn. There are quite a few areas of comfortable seating at the other end of the pub along with a quiz machine. Sadly the only real ale on the bar when I called was Pedigree, however it tasted OK. Very food led but with a bit of a nod to drinkers as there's a small Premier Inn across the car park, so they have a bit of a captive audience. The only other place to drink around here is the White House Hotel which has a much better beer selection. It's OK for one as it's not quite as bland as many of these places tend to be.
