A music pub deserted on my afternoon visit I guess later it will buzz, the nearby old men’s pubs were quite busy however. A longish thin place probably a pub for a while judging by the counter, architrave, ceiling roses and tongue and groove, it retains banquette seating down the left side, seating at a sofa and a small table on the right then the shallow U shaped counter. Just a bleak range of lager, cider and Guinness with a keg Hobgoblin IPA to depress me more. Jagerbombs seem popular here. There’s a tiny stage back left and the tables have montages of random magazine cut out photos pasted on top, framed album covers are used as decor. The graffiti on the black painted tiles in the gents is of particularly poor quality, the piped music was very enjoyable however despite being very 21st century.

According to Google, the Tooth & Claw is a live music venue. Didn’t look open but maybe it’s only open evening times.

A non fancy pub in a fancy named street. The type of pub you go into when coming straight from the bookies and waiting on your horse coming in, as the TV has on horse racing. As most other pubs I visited that day had the semi final of the Scottish Cup on. The pub had plenty of offers on for various drinks which I found were very cheap. However I had Jack Daniels and the wife had Bacardi with a can of diet coke. It felt rather on the expensive side compared to the offers. Although other than the horse racing being on, it was pleasant enough.
