Visited back in March, on mid-week afternoon. Eight cask available, offering four of their own (Spitting Feathers) plus four guests. Keg stuff also available.
It doesn't look too much from the outside and the steps up to the first floor entrance may be offputting to some, but once inside, you find yourself launched into a very old looking building, apparently a former Jacobean banqueting hall. The main room contains the bar servery and there is a further room off to the right with additional seating. Food is served.
Well worth making the trip up the steps to visit this place.

The Brewery Tap is still one of the highlights of a visit to Chester. Owned by the local Spitting Feathers Brewery, it has their Session Beer & Thirst Quencher on handpull as regular ales. Other cask beers from the brewery were Old Wavertonian & Repetitive Strain Injury, along with guests - Howling Hops Amber Ale & Series No. 1 Citra, Salopian Shropshire Gold & Weekend Project Afternoon in Chico. Craft beers were Round Corner Social Club & Cavalcade, Thornbridge Pink Grapefruit Jaipur & Brauerie Heller Bamberg Rauchbier, the latter being one I had never seen on draft in this country before.
It's a fantastic space inside, being a former banqueting hall with tall ceilings and tapestries hanging on the walls, along with an interesting history. It makes for a very enjoyable drinking experience. I've always found it busy and have not yet managed to grab a seat. However, it's one of those unmissable pubs for any trip to Chester. My only plea would be for a real cider to be stocked.

Dismal looking from the outside, if you can get through the awkward door its a beautiful vaulted hall inside with great beer from Spitting Feathers. Worth a visit just to see inside
