Blackthorn _ left this review about New Inn
A traditional looking stone built pub in the centre of Buxton’s High Street, it’s clearly been renovated at some point and is now something of a mix of elegant and temporary in style rather than the traditional feel that you might expect from looking at the outside.
Internally it’s all been opened out and is now largely a single, open-plan room, although there is a smaller room at the rear which was perhaps a little cosier. Décor is quite elegant as mentioned with embossed wallpaper on the ceiling, chandeliers and much of the front part being colour drenched (an interior design term according to Mrs B which means walls, celling and even the skirting all painted the same colour) in dark green. Flooring was sanded wooden boards, whilst there was some oak panelling on the walls to the rear. A fitted shelving unit filled one entire wall and housed an array of books, pictures and jugs, whilst a few further pieces of artwork were scattered around elsewhere. All in all it was quite pleasant, but felt a bit more like a hotel drawing room in places rather than your traditional pub.
There was a good choice of beers on tap with Timothy Taylor Landord, Bradfield Farmer’s Blonde, Abbeydale Moonshine and Yorkshire Bitter, Ossett White Rat and Bass.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The New Inn
Fine-looking Robinson's pub on the Market Place but sadly over-remodelled and unsympathetically refurbished inside so as to lose any real character. Mind you, the tables out front offer something of a view. I found three of the five handpumps in use, offering Unicorn (£3.85), Dizzy Blonde and Trooper.

Ian Mapp left this review about The New Inn
All the other pubs around the market square were rammed - with Inn Full signs displayed outside. The only sign displayed outside this one was "Pub for Lease". Only a flying visit and I can only report on what I saw - but this seemed to be popular with some of the punters that maybe were barred from other venues. One bloke had done a fine job of getting so drunk by 6:30pm on a Saturday afternoon - even if it was the first Saturday since we were allowed back in. Still, he was causing no harm.
Robinsons Unicorn was in extremely good condition - much better than I expected.
