Waxy O'Connor's main entrance is on West George Street. There is also a 2nd exit at the rear on Dundas lane, which is easier to use if coming out of the west side of the train station. If you are a resident of the Carlton George Hotel there is a 3rd entrance which is an exclusive internal connecting door located near the rear of the reception desk. This large pub is spread over 3 floors. The venue features a maze-like layout that includes 6 unique bars and 9 distinct areas connected by twisting staircases and hidden passages.

This was my debut visit to a Waxy O'Connor's, Mrs Ale having visited their flagship pub in Leicester SQ London. I found the layout most intriguing with it's multi levels and numerous snugs, something like off Lord of the Rings. Beer wise Guinness, Caffrey's etc, but well worth a look around.

As you probably know Waxy O’Connor’s is part of the Carlton George Hotel next door as they are both the same address, 44 West George Street. Photo coming of the hotel.
