Stonegate's answer to the Spoons over the road - a little grubbier and in need of a refurb but otherwise fair enough. Sports TVs abound and there is a pool table in the middle. On handpump were Sea Fury, Doom Bar, Broadside, Wolfpack Second Row, and a Lilley's cider.

This Vineyard is a large open plan Smith and Jones pub with wooden flooring and nothing by the way of an interesting feature. It felt like a fairly recent addition to the pub trade and my thoughts have been confirmed by the below review. There is a decked garden out the back and the toilets are quite a trek up a flight of stairs and around a few corridors. I spotted three plasma screens that were showing muted adverts for the S&J chain and there was some very low background music playing.
The bar is stocked with standard draught products and I counted five hand pumps. The Bombardier was off, but Courage Best, Jennings Cumberland Ale and Marston’s EPA (x2) were all available. Cheap pub co food is served daily from midday until 21:00.
This is a typical nondescript high street chain pub that I doubt anyone other than those that work for S&J would set out from their house with the sole intention of spending some time here.

Sittingbourne's newest pub, The Vineyard, was previously Dolding's clothing shop and opened as a pub in 2007. It has the look and feel of 'Spoons, but has none of the charm (it's actually a Smith and Jones owned establishment). A single large bar in a rambling building with wooden floors and large mirrors everywhere has a lot of potential which is not realised. The lunchtime clientele consists mainly of families out shopping and there is no pub atmosphere. Its local reputation for rudeness is well deserved, its attempt to provide restaurant food is laughable and the staff are ignorant and unpleasant. There were 2 ales on. I had a pint of Young's which was too cold and had little flavour. I am unlikely to come here again as there are so many better places nearby.
