Situated in the picturesque part of Minehead ( i.e. at the opposite end of town to the Butlins ) between the harbour and lifeboat station, this pub provides fantastic views across the Bristol Channel from its outside tables on the quayside and these are the best place to sit on a fine weather day like the one we were blessed with.
Not sure how long it has been, but the Old Ship s now run by Hall & Woodhouse serving a range of their breweries Badger Ales, and they seem to be doing a decent job of running it as a dining pub.
The inside section is long and thin with a couple of entrance doors and although of some character I found it a bit dark on a fine sunny day so sat outside on the very pleasant quay side tables.
Best Bitter and Tanglefoot were on the hand pumps on the small corner bar section as you enter from the outside tables and both were in good condition. There may have been other ales on further up the bar but didn’t really pay attention beyond this first pump set.
We utilised it for lunch after walking the nearby Culver Cliff. Section of the South West Coastal Path and it was a very good experience on the food front as well and is currently one of the best places to eat in Minehead according to Trip Advisor reviews.

Called in yesterday and there were 2 Ringwood beers on, both fine. Also Pedigree and Cotleigh 25. TV on, and part set up for food.
