Another traditional pub on the moors above Holmfirth that feels more like a restaurant. To be fair, this one has half a dozen hand pumps with beers from local Nook brewery, but it still doesn't feel much like a pub. The background music was irritating, but the lad who served me was friendly and helpful, and the beer was in decent condition (NBSS 3). This is grand cycling country, with the hills not too challenging even with the wind unfavourable. I wouldn't be saying that if it was raining, mind.
