This bar is quite seperate from the hotel operation and just drinking there is acceptable.The decor is modern with a mix of furniture to the right ,a drinking shelf opposite the central bar and then the rest of the interior split into two sections with lots of banquettes covered in velour and the far area having more of a dining feel.
Food is a key attraction and my chicken wrap at £8.25 was very tasty.
The bar has two handpumps with regular ales from Old Cannon Brewery ,on my trip Best Bitter and Gunners Daughter (strong,malty ,NBSS 2.5).The keg options were very mainstream.Popular with a mature customewr base the gentle muzak was inoffensive but I'm not a fan of Old Cannon ales ,so can see no good reason to return just for a pint.
