A fairly large detached Marstons pub/eatery with patio areas. The place is a modern looking building, in plain and white painted brick, with green and white 'fake' wood plank effect. The white brick extension continues the sloping roof (dormer window excepted) to such an extent i bet the kids get the sledges out in the snow.
The interior has a couple of rooms. The front room is the bar. It has both a pool table and a dart board, as well as TVs with with silent programmes on as the music was playing - a little loudly really. The decor is yellow and wood, with some red on the walls, with a red/black patterned carpet and some wood flooring. A few beer pictures, cartoons and other odd things were on the walls. The rear room is the lounge. This too was in red, yellow and wood panel with a white moulded cornice and white ceiling, with a more foody type of loud carpet. There is a raised area. The pictures here are the bistro style as the place is populated by food tables, but they only serve food generally in the daytime. I didn't eat, so can't comment on that, but it is a general budget menu. The service was fine and the clientele had a few lads in the bar and a few others in the quieter longe.
Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's MILD and Bitter on handpull, the MILD looked a little flat (the lady behind the bar wouldn't serve it to her credit) and so i had the bitter which was OK.
A run-of-the-mill kind of Marston's food place that at least serves real ale and the food area looked tidy. There is a separate bar with pub games, so i have been in far worse.
