As JAQPTIO mentions, the name is a misnomer as you can't actually see the sea from here - it's in the middle of the modern bit of Lee-On-Solent and dominates the shopping area. It's a large detached building with plenty of parking space guarded by a gang of nicotine sentries who did, to their credit, apologise and allow access when asked. The single bar is cavernous, with a counter in the middle and the carvery off to on side. The carvery is by far the pub's best asset - freshly prepared food, reasonably priced for a seaside town. The bar is modern, carpeted, has plenty of gaming machines and a children's play area. There was only one ale on - Marston's IPA which was in surprisingly good condition, making the whole place ok for a refreshing meal on a hot sunny day. OK if passing or working nearby, but don't expect a quiet pint in calm surroundings.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Inn by the Sea
Quite a substantial building, extended on one side and at the back back to leave quite a confusing layout. Difficult to find a way through to the rear beer garden. Run by an outfit called Crown Carveries, so you can probably guess what was on the menu at Sunday lunchtime. Three handpumps, but all clipped for Marstons EPA (£2.15). PS - Not as near the sea as the name suggests... (NB - Review dates from August 2011.)
