The Sun is a comfortably appointed middle class friendly pub, with hints of gastro, but also a strong focus on quality smaller breweries (Mad Squirrel and Surrey Hills, for example). Seacider occupies one of the pumps as well. Plenty of tables had reservations placed out on this Friday visit, though I was able to neck a couple of quality pints and get in and out before they kicked in.
Music was background veering towards foreground - the only slight negative for me.
It's just a few minutes walk from The Hope, so simple enough to do what I did and double them up.

Somehow missed this pub on my many visits to Carshalton.What a lovely friendly pub.Food led but plenty of room and beers for drinkers.Absolutely stunning beer garden best visited at night when the lights are on.Five cask beers and my Hand brew -bitter and Alsopps -pale were good.Smashing barman.

A decent pub this one and well worth a visit for the choice of ales. We got in here mid afternoon on a Friday, so there wasn't many diners about, even though this is a food led pub. They had a choice of six handpumps, all of which were in use. Beer wise they had on Listers Best Bitter, By the Horns Stiff Upper Lip, By the Horns Red Rye, Wimbledon Common Pale Ale, Wimbledon SW19 and Hardy and Hansons Olde Trip. I went for the Wimbledon Pale ale, which was a good session beer. There was also an upstairs Gin room, called the "Gin Library".
