I called in here before the match, mainly because it has a regionally important historic interior. It is a fine, imposing building with separate room around a central bar, with a number of hand pumps. Unfortunately there's no real ale here, though one of the locals I spoke to said the landlady is thinking about whether to try it. This is a good community local, and would be a destination pub if it served a couple of real ales.
