The village of Burston has been by passed by the A51 and so the pub is not affected by traffic.You enter from the carpark into an area with two large sofas and a large flatscreen ,off during my Thursday evening visit.You then enter the bar area but the pub interior has been heavily refurbed ,it's all modern but somewhat sterile and even the exposed brick housing the two wood burners were modern engineering brick,there is virtually no village pub atmosphere nor decoration.There is a step down to a seating area along the pub frontage and a side servery for a few keg beers,then up some steps to a large dining room,although there is a more discrete parquet flooring dining section beyond the second wood burner at the lower level.
The restaurant was very busy and the menu looks hearty and traditional although I was only in for a beer.There is a beer garden off the carpark.
The three handpumps were offering Marstons Pedigree and Wainwright (NBSS 3) along with Ringwood Razor Back,not an exciting range from the Marston's portfolio which might well inhibit another visit unless I wanted something to eat.A 10 minute stroll from the Trent & Mersey Canal.

Village pub tucked away just off the main A51. I suspect this is normally a pub that attracts diners. They soon asked if we wanted food, as they weren't actually serving any on our Sunday evening visit. However, we were only there for a final drink of the day.

Three real ales were on - Greene King Abbot, Morland Old Golden Hen & Peakstones Perigrine.

Entering from the car park, you pass through what I recall to be a conservatory area into the main bar area. This stretches for some way to the rear left into an area that I assumed is used for dining.

There is a large garden and car park. Both children and dogs are welcome.

Visited the Greyhound Inn on the evening of 17 August 2016 for a family meal. Having visited this venue on numerous previous occasions, I knew what to expect in terms of the quality of the food and beer. Our table for 6 was located adjacent to the bar on the main restaurant floorspace. While the menu is a bit 'old school', the food is always piping hot and well presented, offering good value for money. Indeed my mixed grill was very good. On the beer front, Carlsberg and Guiness on tap, and a decent selection of 3 ales on handpull (Jennings Cocker Hoop, Thwaites Lancaster Bomber and The Coach House Brewing Co Cheshire Silver). I had a pint of each which were all in excellent condition and around £3.20 to £3.40 a pint. From previous experience, they tend to offer the Thwaites Lancaster Bomber or Wainwright and change the other handpulls.
