We had not visited this pub for a few years and thought we would have a look as it had been refurbished. I believe the correct description of the style is contemporary, although I prefer the terms horrible, awful etc. Furry purple armchairs and bar stools with tiger skin covering are not what I expect to see in a country pub. The barmaid was making hard work of serving what appeared to be japanese tourists, and we got fed up waiting and left. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Visited Saturday last...Skate smelt of ammonia..i.e....was off...everyone included waistresses and front of house could clearly smell this but NOT the chef.....if the Chef has NO sense of smell....heaven help you!.......
Cheesecake was missing half of biscuit base...no pride to food being served!
food took ages....not particularly nice....basically...another place doing pub grub and charging restaurant prices....Michelin recommended places charge less!
Service staff in T shirts also looks poor!...
NOT a restaurant and slowwwww service...will not be back
