They had the rarely seen Flowers Original on handpump, with a second pump having a clip reversed (but I couldn’t see what it was). Food on a Saturday afternoon amounted to some rolls in a traditional plastic container behind the bar. Not sure of the prices, but it’s clearly not expensive in here as a pint of Flowers and a cheese and tomato roll came to £4.50. The flowers was a bit hazy, although it tasted OK – but after a while the landlord spotted my hazy pint and came over tpo make sure that it was OK. I appreciate service like that.
This is a rock solid Irish pub.The green painted walls, and contrasting orange painted radiators give one a clue to this, with it being confirmed by the plentiful Irish accents. The pub was doing a roaring trade mid-afternoon on Saturday, with most customers in here being focussed on the TV showing the racing. Decor consisted mainly of various football scarves, but also included prints of racehorses and greyhounds, and photographs of boxers.
I liked this pub a lot. It’s carpeted, furnished with normal tables and chairs plus a bit of banquette seating, and had a very friendly atmosphere. I would be very happy to drop in here for another pint sometime.

A basic pub, well liked by the local community. More details later. Update: No real ale, did have a hand pump but no clip. Has seating ouside. Pictures of WW2 planes and Winston Churchill, also race horses on the wall. Friendly people.
