Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Mawson
Substantial corner pub, which somehow seems rather left behind after much of the area around it has been redeveloped over the years. It has a fine unaltered layout with a lounge, drinking lobby and a back room clustered around the central bar area. A couple of other doors presumably lead to rooms no longer in regular use. The walls are mostly half-panelled in wood, with some unornate but interesting tiling and other decorative features in each area. No real ale unfortunately, so had to resort to the Tetleys Extra Cold at £2.50. On looking the place up afterwards, I wasn't at all surprised to see that it is listed in CAMRA's inventory of historic pub interiors and well worth seeking out to have a look around (if not for the beer).
