Unsurprisingly, there was Blues music playing in the background and the walls are slathered with music memorabilia. The upstairs seating / stage area was closed, although I did note that live music is held here every day, including multiple sets throughout the day on Sundays. The bar area is a single room with a small counter in the left rear corner that faces some small copper topped tables and some prime raised seating in the floor to ceiling front windows. Standard and premium keg was available and the four hand pumps were drawing Craven Brew Co’s Mild and Black sheep’s Blonde alongside Blonde and Bitter from Daleside. The service was very friendly and for somewhere called Blues Café Bar it certainly hits the brief, however I’m an old raver so this isn’t really my bag. Although I did like the hinged wooden seat on the front for those wishing to rest after tackling the incline.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Blues Bar

Small bar, little bigger than a micro-pub really, so it's difficult to imagine it in use as a music venue? With limited seating, several people took the opportunity to stand outside in the sunshine and make use of a narrow table to place their drinks. Four handpumps, offering a pair of Daleside beers (Blonde and Bitter), Black Sheep Blonde and the Mild from Craven Brew (£2.10, half).

Very close to Betty's Tea Rooms ,so a good place to escape from that madness,this is a dedicated music bar where the small stage is in the front window and live music seems to happen most nights.The room itself is quite small with a modest bar in a rear corner,the stairs lead to a dining room for evening use,while the mural up the stairs features old blues men.The ceiling has a huge amount of music ephemera hanging down.The soundtrack too is blues orientated but at no great volume on my midday visit.
Four handpumps features on my trip Daleside Blonde (NBSS 4),Mild and Bitter with Black Sheep Blonde as a guest.Well worth including on any real ale tour of town,I guess it must get busy when the music of on.
