An imposing corner pub which inside is a cosy retro multi-roomer, clad in gently shabby burgundy and cream with faded plush seating and some old wood fittings including a classic bar. Half a dozen people patiently queuing outside for its late afternoon opening. Six pumps with four ales on; Courage Best, Exmoor Gold, Hobgoblin, Rev James, Salopian Lemon Dream (NBSS 3.5). The Scottish landlord was a teller of somewhat tall tales, verging on the boastful. Fans of traditional old boozers will enjoy this one.

Quiet, traditional style pub with victorian decor, best suited to those who appreciate a taste experience with at least five ales to choose from, ever-changing. Definitely not a sports bar (anyone under 40 must be accompanied by their parents) No food but there are take-aways on the main street if you want a bite. Well worth a visit.

A very nice, very friendly pub. Camra friendly with crusty beardies comparing taste notes. Arguably the best pub in Old Colwyn.
