Unspoilt heritage pub in this small Flintshire hamlet. No public transport to the village but the Mold bus passes the main road- about 20 minutes' pleasant walk. I'd walked from Flint. The multi roomed interior survives intact, and the pub is traditionally furnished throughout. Some punters were enjoying the sun at the front but I decided to sit in the atmospheric and cosy bar, off to the left at the entrance. It's small and can only fit a few, but packed with character. 2 other rooms can be accessed to the back of the bar and to the right of the corridor, but nobody was in them on my visit. 3 ales on handpump, I had 2 pints of Betwixt blonde, which were very good. Seems there may be a food operation at times, but not on my Saturday afternoon visit.
Surprised nobody has got here before me, it's a good pub in every respect, and worth the detour if in the area.
