Ideally situated village green pub which also serves as a caff in the morning and curry house later on. We didn't go in, of course, but seats outside and on the village green and more to the rear. Beer choice from what I grasped from the waitress's recitation was mainstream, John Smith's at the top of the list; we went for Tribute which was a nice drink prettily served.

We enjoyed a brief break in the cloud cover to observe the comings and going, both human and the ducks in the nearby pond, but the ambience was ruined in the end by someone blasting out eighties pop over a huge sound system. Not sure what those in the nearby houses think of that.

Without the music, which did make us drink up a little sooner than we might, and a more adventurous beer selection, it would be an eight pointer.
