What appears to have once been a nice little stone-built pub, now encumbered with various stone-built extensions heading back into a vast car park. Predominantly food-led (Chef & Brewer), but quite tastefully done up and a bit above the family end of the market. The original bar area is quite cosy and not bad for drinking in. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very drinkable Goose Eye Black Moor Mild on handpump, along with the predictable TT Landlord and Black Sheep. And GK IPA if you are desperate. The food is fairly conventional dining pub stuff but nicely done. It is also Cask Marque registered and an occasional GBG listing. Shame it's quite so food-heavy but quite an acceptable refreshment stop.

Posh looking, food led, stone built pub opposite church and school in a small village. Interior is brewers tudor and reminiscent of a certain type of hotel. Excellent ale from local brewer Daleside plus Wells Bombardier and the usual bulk beers. Food is excellent, fresh, and mid priced making the place popular with ladies who lunch and middle aged couples but not exclusively so. Service is professional and friendly. Close enough to Harrogate to attract bored conference goers and lunching exec's.
