Strongers . left this review about McGowan's
This McGowan’s is the location of McGowan’s Irish Bars head office and it is the largest of their establishments that I have ventured into. It is located on the corner of the shopping strip this end of the Edgware road and there are a few café style tables out the front that are mainly used by smokers. There is more seating in a concreted area at the rear of the pub, but again this seems to be mainly used by smokers. My visit was early on St George’s Day evening a few Saturdays ago and it was nice to see the pub kitted out with bunting and flags to celebrate. I found the barmaids on duty to be very friendly and I enjoyed a decent pint of Guinness from the standard draught selection that is available. The bar supports two hand pumps that were both drawing Greene King IPA, but I didn’t see anyone drinking it. The jukebox was playing at a decent volume and a DJ was setting his kit up for the evening’s entertainment. The bar area is basically open plan and there are plasma screens throughout for showing Sky Sports. There is an area at the rear that has some more plasma screens and two pool tables.
I thought that there was a friendly atmosphere in here and I would pop back in if passing.
