Situated on a busy road with a residential area to the rear, this is a nice, traditional Batham's house. A tiled corridor leads from the front entrance to a couple of rooms on the left and at least one further room at the end of the corridor to the rear. There is also an outdoor drinking area next to a small car park at the back.

Both rooms to the left have old brick fireplaces. The larger front room has a dartboard and various football pictures on the walls. The rear room also has a TV as well as a games machine. Both rooms also have 3 handpulls. Batham's Best Bitter & Mild are the regular cask ales. A third handpull in the rear room had an XXX pumpclip turned. This appears only to be available in the winter. My Mild was extremely sweet, but quite tasty for 3.5%. Gins and shots were also being promoted. With cobs and sausage rolls for sale, I noticed a sign above the bar boasting that they just had cobs and no carvery.

Dogs are allowed in and there is a quiz night on the last Thursday of each month. With a mostly elderly clientele on a Sunday afternoon, it got me wondering if the next generation would frequent this pub or whether it's just not the kind of pub that younger people avoid. For me, I hope it doesn't change and continues to be popular.
