A classic Brickwood pub exterior but the inside has been modernised unto a sports bar with the usual high tables and numerous TVs. Patio garden at rear. It does at least have a few beers, with Landlord and Ubu Purity alongside the usual IPA and Abbot at time of visit.

A traditional town centre boozer currently operated by GK. It's a large Victorian corner pub which has been converted into a single L-shaped bar. There is a small drinking area at one end, while the other leg is best described as a playroom with gaming machines, a pool table (with the tag-line 'Grab Life By The Balls')and TV and projector screens showing BT Sports. The sports commentary was drowned out by a really, really annoying jukebox. There is a decked area at the back known as The Cider Garden, a misnomer due to the absence of any actual cider. The staff were friendly, the locals less so. Food is of the cheap modern pub grub variety not very appetising. Three handpumps on the bar, one which had just run out of GK IPA, so we went for Speckled Hen which was disappointingly dull, even by GK standards. The third pump had Abbot, which we left well alone. They hold regular pub quizzes, meat raffles and other entertainments, and it seems overall to be a decent enough local, but there isn't much to draw the casual visitor or ale lover.
