As described this is a quirky traditional country pub. The shop is still there, and the small L-shaped bar area has a dartboard, pool table and TV screen which was showing the evening news. No cooked food on offer, just crisps and other snacks. There was only one ale on, Salopian Gold, which was in very good condition. The landlord and landlady were good company, and they were happy to see our dogs. Well worth dropping in for a beer and a slice of history.

A detached undressed brick built early Victorian country pub, with beer garden, that takes its name from the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers who once owned the estate. There is an integral shop and to the rear ample space providing a basic camp site.
Once you enter, the shop area is to the right. The pub has three rooms. In front is the snug room, which was in darkness when we visited but looked to be in creame and was decorated with oil lamps and brasses. It had a few tables and was carpeted. The bar room has a small serving bar to the right of the door and has a tiled floor and is in cream and green, with with further lamps and brasses, with a few pictures. It is very traditional. There are a couple of tables and window seats. Further through thereis a generally wood panelled annex with darts and a TV for the footy, which is the games room. The service was friendly, as were the locals that were in - a nice mixed clientele. There was no music.
Beer; tap stuff with Wharfdale Taster, Banks's MILD and Greys Bitter on handpull. They were all decent.
A little gem. The place is in the middle of nowhere and is one of the few things that would make me ever want to camp again. If you are a traditionalist, simply this, GO!if you get the chance.
