A picturesque detached Victorian pub and eatery in white render, with black beam and paintwork. There is a front patio area and rear beer garden. In the GBG 2011.
Not sure of how many rooms, i just saw the interior of the bar room. It is an L-Shaped room in white and salmon coloured walls, with white beamed ceiling and part red tile and part carpeted floor. There are a couple of brick fireplaces and a piano, as well as lots of old local photos and Victorian styled prints on the walls and some ephemera in the shape of jugs and trophies. There was no music or TV that i saw. The service was fine and the clientele a few people from the local area. They do food here, but i didn't eat, so i can't comment on that.
Beer; tap stuff with Joules Pale ale, a decent Slumbering Monk, Bombardier and Titanic Anchor on handpull.
A really pleasant little place and worth finding out. Difficult to get to unless driving, so really you may be looking at eating here too. Check opening time - it isn't open all day, but i do think it is worth the effort.
