A deceptively large place. If you've been in any of the Botanist places dotted around then you'll know what to expect decor wise. Described well enough by Mr Camra. As noted the cask ale is found on the wall behind the bar but rather worryingly was that half of the barrels were hidden behind signs advertising various cocktail thingys. I don't like the ones in Birmingham or Chester and this place has done nothing to improve my opinion.

Another new bar from New World Trading Co, the people who own Oasthouse, Alchemist etc. It's almost identical to the pub of the same name in Leeds. You enter into the bar area, to the right and rear there are areas dedicated to food which are in slightly distressed light green wood which look like greenhouses. Lot's of watering cans etc around the walls. There's an area at the front aimed at drinkers, along with an outside area on Deansgate where you can watch the world go by and be choked by car exhaust fumes. The main bar area is flag floored and very neat. It's all very nicely done, but totally identikit in a "pub in a box" type of way. 4 cask ales available all served from fake barrels at the rear of the bar. A pint of Redwillow Headless was £3.90 which is a bit steep, just like all their other bars. It's a bit "designed" for my liking, but the other half will love it.
