This is another former Antic establishment that is now run by the Urban Pubs and Bars group who took it over in August last year. From what I could see, with the possible exception of the seating ( which is now very comfortable padded red benches and booths) and a general smartening up, not much seems to have changed decor wise, as the exposed brickwork and ceiling ducting remains, as does some of the eclectic collections on the walls. We sat in the booth to the right of the front windows and the collection of handbags here and the gloves on the far wall looked like they could’ve come straight across the road from the British Heart Foundation charity shop opposite.
The bar has changed however and been remodelled and now looks much more like one you would find in a night club, being dominated by two banks of keg taps which, in the Urban Pubs tradition had some interesting craft options, which for our visit included Siren Soundwave IPA, Jubel Peach beer and a decent Two Tribes Campfire hazy IPA. The bar now just has two hand pumps with Sambrooks Wandle as a permanent beer and alongside this was Siren’s Tempo pale ale. I went for the Siren brew, which was just about drinkable but clearly nearing the end of its barrel life.
The internal layout hasn’t changed from previous reviews, and although the weather was nowhere near good enough for us to utilise them, we did take a peek at the rather excellent outside garden space and rooftop terrace, which I can imagine is fantastic for an alfresco pint in the summer months.
But then at night, when it’s dark this place very much has a nightclub vibe about it with subdued red lighting going on, and I believe there is live music from 11 pm at the weekends

A highly unusual Antic pub (aren't they all ?) worthy of inspection.This shop conversion has fully incorporated the original Victorian house behind the long shop frontage and with the use of multiple RSJ's the rear has been opened up to the full height creating a church like feel with a vast bar back on the right side,not only with bottles but also inacceable rows of books topped off by a traditional clock.The front shop area has metal furniture,elsewhere more trad but everywhere are exposed brickwork walls with some interesting decorations and a collection of grey umberellas on the ceiling.Various flatscreens will show Premiership football but are sensibly turned off when there is no live footie.
Beyond the bar there is a mezzanine level with seating opposite an open nkitchen and doors to the beer garden,while below the mezzanine down some steps is a modern windowless snug with a night club feel.
On entering there was a major whiff of incense,and with a classic rock and blues soundtrack I was transported back to my student days of parties and potential fornication.However I spotted that the attractive barmaid was sneaking a few draws on her vape on this quiet Friday lunchtime accounting for the pleasant smell,but it didn't stop my mind from wandering until I had to oder from Volden Pale and Session,Sharp's Sea Fury,Wimbledon Best and Thornbridge Jaipur IPA (Very reasonable £5.65,NBSS 3).There was no food on offer but 12 kegs taps for a mix of lagers,IPA's ,whit beir and sparkling ciders.
Worth popping in to inspect the interior,Volden x2 and Jaipur are permanents so real alers are accomodated and as with all Antic pubs there's a charming quirkyness.

An uber-trendy sort of place (did I really say that?) as you might expect from Antik. A long and dark shop conversion with extremely arty décor, split level at the rear to provide a restaurant area and with a garden at the back. Not exactly to my taste but it did carry a good range of beers, including a couple from Antik's Croydon-based Volden Brewery.
