Will Larter left this review about The Greendale Oak
A modern refurbishment of this old building, whose sign celebrates the occasion of a local landowner mutilating a tree to win a bet. There are glass doors at the entrance from the car park, engraved "country dining and ale house". There are two banks of four hand pumps, with White Horse Wayland Smithy, Jennings Cockerhoop and York Guzzler on at the time of our visit. The beer was fine, but this is not really my sort of pub, being aimed at people who drive out into the country for something to eat. May be my opinion was coloured by the presence of Frank Sinatra on the sound system: Ol' Blue Eyes can curdle my views on any pub.
